What are the important challanges in your field and how are going to solve?

One of the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry is scaling. We want to shrink our devices while maintaining the best quality possible. This isn't something just one person is going to be able to solve, it requires a team effort. This is a challenge multiple teams within Micron are working together to solve, collaboration across and within these teams is key. New ideas and innovations will also be necessary to tackle this challenge. Micron encourages innovation, within my department we have two hours every week that are dedicated to innovating and learning. Of course innovation and learning isn't restricted to only those two hours, but it is helpful to have blocked off time each week so you can focus on reading new technical papers, taking online courses, or brainstorming new solutions without having to worry about missing a critical meeting since it's a department wide initiative. This challenge is always going to change as we continue to shrink so it will be critical to continue to learn and work as a team to develop solutions and provide the best quality to our customers.
